I'll give him points for having balls

THIS JUST IN: Seems the Etsy Admin protest bead we linked earlier (seen to the left) that was up for auction has been won by "robkali" - anyone wish to venture a guess as to who that is? With 59 feedback something tells me it's none other than the Etsy CEO himself as I can't see anyone would playing a duplicitous game that long just to buy this.

I've heard some incredible reports of people sending work to Etsy and it coming back vandalized and destroyed. I dearly hope it's not the case with this because this fellow deserves a place of honor not under some wanker's boot.

If you didn't take the link over to read the description or see the pictures before, do it now, it's a fucking work of genius. It also might be the last time he's seen in one piece. It was made by one of the screwed over beadmakers whose work was being claimed by the now deleted seller with the Etsy-deleted sold pages.

If it was me I would refuse the sale and refund his money and tell him to sod off. But that's me. I'm a total bitch as if you didn't you know.

And it only gets more hilarious!

Please do a full post on this:

"I've heard some incredible reports of people sending work to Etsy and it coming back vandalized and destroyed. ..."

What the??? Would love to hear about this?

It's one of those grapevine things, you hear it from someone who heard it from someone. I can't even tell you who I have heard it from myself right now but if it's true, it's shameful.

Interesting. One of his recent purchases was from a seller who lists cheap yet overpriced sweatshop rugs. The listing has since been removed (removed, not expired) by eBay. I wonder why?

He also needs to catch up on his feedback left. Tsk, tsk.

That bead is a work of art. I hope he adds it to his collection and doesn't destroy it.

that was posted in the comments of an article right here at etsybitch. That is different though because Etsy never bought that item, it was sent as a gift. Vandalizing gifts is pretty disgraceful.

As for this bead, I think Rokali collects art that is inspired by Etsy or protesting against Etsy. He bought 3 of my Dead Swimmy ACEO's. He might have burned them, but you can't really control what any buyer does after they buy your work. He paid for it, so he has the right to burn it if he wants. He could just be collecting these things for some kind of goofy trophy cabinet. I'd hope he's collecting them because they are amusing, and he has the ability to laugh at himself, but perhaps I'm giving too much credit.

So, if I fill my shop with Rokali voodoo dolls, I can be guaranteed of consistent sales?

Ima gonna be the next Black Apple!

No one steal my freakin' plan!

eclipse said...

Nah it wouldn't work. He's so paranoid, he's already got the voodoo protection angle covered.

You can never have too many evil-eye quilts, apparently.

Well now we know what he's doing with his investment..he spent it at ebay!

I hope that this purchase simply reflects a sense of humor and, as eclipse said, a little collection of Etsy-mocking art. I'd respect someone who had enough perspective to be able to laugh at himself.

I hope it *doesn't* reflect the fact that the CEO of a multi million dollar corporation is spending time stalking blogs, message boards and eBay auctions. I'd expect that the people in top level management had more pressing demands on their time.

So, which is it? A sense of humor or childish pettiness? You make the call.

Sigh.

Ah yes, the evil eye stuff.

It's kind of sad, how afraid of the peeps he is.

He could have been beloved, instead he feels he's so disliked that he seeks out bad and easy to undo layman magik.

Well, he made his bid at 3:28pm Eastern Time, so the answer is: Yes, he's on ebay in the middle of a workday...

But maybe it was during a juice-box break.

Poll please!

"It was made by one of the screwed over beadmakers whose work was being claimed by the now deleted seller with the Etsy-deleted sold pages."

No. It was made by a person who SUPPORTS the beadmakers who were screwed over by the person who had their closed items edited by Etsy.

Refusing the sale was never an option. Personally I hope it'll help straighted out a thing or two at Etsy.

I say dream big! Ya right...

So now we know rokali's ebay ID? Oh the fun and joy there is to be had with that little tidbit. I do believe I shall go do a search on the ebay boards for him. LOL

for someone who has distance-diagnosed the mental states of various users of his site, he's providing plenty of fodder for the armchair psych peeps out there

ho ho ho

(and he's prepared to spend quite a bit of cash for a vintage bicycle according to his feedback! it's rough when your buying history is all expose)

bencandance said...

Hmmmmmmm, I may just sculpt the whole Admin team on a little platform and see who buys it.

It might even appeal to the Etsy cheerleaders!

Crap.

If I would've known rokali himself was bidding, I would've placed a gigantic bid so he had to pay more.
You know he has a ...ugh... big budget now.

Wonder if he'll put it on a display in the Labs (aka The Etsy Historical Archives replete with the first copy of 'Swimmy' he ever read in the lighted trophy case).

... then the expenditure is a tax write-off. Damn.

"I hope it *doesn't* reflect the fact that the CEO of a multi million dollar corporation is spending time stalking blogs, message boards and eBay auctions."

I hope it does. He is surrounded by weaklings, sycophants and giggly little girls with bubbles instead of brains whose main job is to whitewash and punish Etsy forum posters until they can only shit rainbows. (Or cupcakes.)

The blogs and message boards are the only place he stands a chance of learning the truth and perhaps, PERHAPS, grasping the depth of his ineptitude.

Read on, little man!

BTW I wanted to clarify that I am not criticizing the quilts or their makers- they are pretty damn cool. Especially that first one, I like it!
The comment was more wondering, how paranoid do you have to be to require that much spiritual "protection"? Protection against what, exactly?

OMG, you owe me a new keyboard! Iced coffee everywhere!

I think it's time to relist this again:

view_listing.php?listing_id=6018406

On second thought, maybe I should list it on Ebay!

Ah-HA!!!! SO that's how Rokali found out who made and sold the nucking futs etsyadmin...and it costed him only $41+ change to track the talented artisan down...

I am rarely speechless. This is one of those times. I mean...wow. Wowowow.

I see Robkali has moved on from Swimmy. He is now reading Childe Harold's Pilgrimage. (Another recent eBay purchase.)

Poor wittle disillusioned Robbie.

roflmaopimp! Seriously!
