Top of the pops on the Community (flub) Hub page is the announcement from Stelloella that yes indeedy, the D&D’s are a done deal, despite sellers comments! Oh no, don’t spend precious hours comparing the old D&D’s with the new ----- you’ll go so batty, you’ll start making things in that "distinct Etsy style"!!!
Sellers have plenty of time to figure it out because a "grace period" has been granted by those up on high (until 12/31) to get "with it", or get ready for another year ahead with rules that are open for interpretation (Etsy's interpretation, that is). You know, rules that apply to some and not to all, an Etsy specialty!
Even with some Etsians pointing out that they think a portion of the policies on Feedback are still not up to snuff, well Etsy says Tough Shit! "At this point, the policies stand as they are, and are in effect."
But that’s ok. Etsy goes on with its own trendy agenda quite separate from what most sellers do at this time of year, like getting ready for holiday shows and holiday sales and marketing their stores, and doing all the things that Etsy doesn't do for most stores on the site!
Etsy, what they do all day, we just don’t know.

The whole thing is a debacle. Really. Come on.
While I understand points of views of theirs, I never understood why they would have a discussion thread last week and not change anything. What's the point?
The new DD's almost make Etsy seem more unlike a venue. The Paypal/shipping policy is so wrong. The "only way you'll get a refund of fees for canceling a sale is one of these 4 things" is a complete 180 from what has been noted before. Now the whole supply thing.
What goes on Etsy? What is coming in the future? And must you really take a valuable engineer from doing what needs to be fixed just so you won't have spam on the Dorque?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:
"These are important changes that every Etsy member should review, so we're sending out an email notification to all members (with millions of members in our community, it may take a few weeks for the emails to reach everyone)."
Do they not understand how email WORKS? What, are they sending the emails via pony express?
It's a site for fools: sucked in.
Okay, I've been actively selling on Etsy for 8 months or so; got hooked on it long before I ever signed up. Still suffering from an Etsy addiction. You may think I'm a full-blown cupcake-eating Kool-aid swigging sycophant. I'd say, notsomuch. I'm aware of the problems on the site, but I still like a lot about it.
BUT I'M UNDERSTANDING THIS SITE MORE AND MORE!
The new D&Ds (sorta kinda) explain tag abuse. Yet, a number of Etsy faves featured in Gift Guides, Storque Articles and what-not are guilty of tag abuse. Until today, I didn't realize I was doing it!
And I'm not sure I'm going to stop.
I'm offering an honest product at a fair price with good customer service; so, I'm just trying every which way to get people in my shops without 1) relisting ALL the time or 2) spending $600 bucks a month advertising on other sites to get traffic on Etsy's site so they can *maybe* find me!
Gee, that last cupcake didn't taste as great as I thought.
Etsy is more about making it impossible to sell if you don't make Etsy-approved products that no one would ever call handmade - they're MADE TO ORDER without payment up front. Let the anti-seller locks, mutings and bannings begin!
I want to personally thank Etsy for emailing me to let me know that there is a new set of rules that I must be following.
Yay!
Oh Good, they are going to email us sometime in the next few weeks. Let's see, I have three shops, last mass email I got a notice in two of my shops but not the third. My bills arrive just fine so Etsy obviously have my address correct.
Instead of taking weeks to mail everyone, why not have a notice pop up when you log in for the first time post rule change that directs you to the New D n' D.
No email here, either shops; I'd delete it anyway. AND how does it take weeks to email everybody?
Pumping up dinosaurs, that's what they do all day... *sigh*
And emails taking 'a few weeks' is just complete BS and I don't understand why anyone would say 'Ok, thanks for letting us know Etsy'...
So all new items are supposed to conform to the new DDs. But they haven't bothered to inform sellers of that - do they assume all sellers are reading the forums? I'd have no idea about these changes if I didn't read the forums.
And yeah, they sure have no problem sending me a reminder of my bill on time every month. Yet somehow informing me of changes to the rules is going to take weeks? But all items posted from now on have to conform to those rules? I swear to god Etsy is run like a high school club, not a business.
Although since they didn't enforce the OLD rules, I'm not sure why I should give a rat's ass about following these new rules.
Quoting still waiting on my email....

Because that would necessitate a level of managerial fortitude and technological sophistication that no one at Etsy possesses.

Indeed. So many things could be done more efficiently at E.
Though the reason it takes time to email a million people is because their servers can only process so much mail without crashing.
breaking news... my mom's seller account got an email about the "new" rules. Not me though.... hmmmm!
