"Consistency cannot be stressed enough. I can't imagine how an admin could ever possibly 'forget' to put on an avatar - or an admin badge. It shouldn't even be possible to post without it."

That's been an issue for awhile now...I remember when RobWhite started he was closing threads as a ghost because of a 'glitch'. A glitch happens a couple times, repeatedly and always is a problem!
I kind of laugh that Jared popped into that thread to say the Dr. Woohoo is no longer with Etsy...the genius who made the birthday page his first priority is gone?! Tell us it isn't so!!
Ok, that was harsh and the poor guy can't defend himself...but it's funny so I'm leaving it lol
I hope RD berated the TheCowboy; informed him to clear his cache, use a different browser, log out & sign back in, delete his cookies, stop accidentally clicking on X's, told him to check with his home ISP and further condescendingly dismissed him by saying the glitch doesn't exist because he can't find it in his user logs.
Glitch, my ass.
It's user error.
Just ask RD.
OH I wanna be so bad and steal that little admin logo underneat their avs and add it to mine...
user error.. :D
ROFLMAO. Definitely user error.
Oh, and remember when Anda had logged into her own shop and was giving official information, etc. No Admin badge to be found.
Are admins required to announce their connection to Etsy in their shop profiles?
Supposedly yes, but they've been known not to until the public raises a stink.
cough, cough, cough Dannilexo cough, cough, cough
"Simply put, if you see a shop posting in the forums that does not have an admin badge, but you know that seller is also an Etsy admin, the statement is not an official Etsy statement."
But you can still feel free to fear them...
We're expected to link our user names in our profiles but they don't bother to ensure that their own admins are doing the same?
Even the dolts at ebay manage to get that part right. If you work for ebay (in any capacity) you must clearly state so in your listings. You must also announce your connection to any seller you patronize. Not doing so is grounds for both a NARU and employment dismissal. I've seen it happen.
Ah, but Etsy is not eBay, is it?
On Etsy Admin are free to ignore the rules other sellers must adhere to. On Etsy Admin are free to give each other and their friends and relations promotional opportunities not available to those without connections. On Etsy Admin are free to bully sellers with impunity, including sending unsolicited convos which include thinly veiled threats.
wait... etsy has rules for employee conduct? this can't be true. etsy doesn't have rules, they just make shit up as they go.
ROFLMAO! 27things, that's pretty much what they do, as evidenced by their lack of experience in all fronts.
Yes 27, they make rules on a " Case by case " basis.
Drink a case of beer ... write out a " do ".
Drink a case of beer, write out a " don't ".
Drink a case of beer, add a forum member to the " bashes Admin " list
Receive a blow job, add a " Cheerleader " to the " promote in the gift guides " list ...
.... and so it goes .....
