Upcoming office hours

We added a block to the right side with with upcoming office hours, including one with Rokali and Maria (we expect to see you all there). We'll try to keep this updated with future "Office Hours".

One session in the treehouse though grabbed our attention:

Cupcake crafting???? Oh dear god they are just being blatantly smarmy now. And haven't we seen enough gocco printing classes? They are doing one today at 5pm, and have done a number of others in the past.

Yes, Danielle, I know how excited you are to learn something new. How excited will you be to finally learn your job?

WHY does Danielle have a job? She's horrible!

Anyone who gets a snarky/abusive email from daniellexo needs to forward it to MARIA now.

I have a feeling that Danielle is one of the Admin members whose days are numbered at Etsy. Maria Knight's letter to the community seems to suggest that she thinks a lot of the Etsy staff are unqualified and have their heads up their asses.

She is, of course, right.

I have access to some very creepy emails from Anda I could send her.

I'm willing give 50% of my next sale towards a plane ticket to send Daniellexo anywhere away from etsy.

This visit the Treehouse campaign: love it. Except then I'd actually have to hang out in the Treehouse :P

Anda's MY pick for first to be canned. Pleasepleaseplease...

Maria's statement about needing...what was it...more depth of experience??? I LOVED that...amen sister, so true.

Why ARE people with such bad people skills in charge of doing anything that requires people skills???

I would give ALL of my next sale towards sending Danielle a plane ticket to somewhere frigid. It seems I am not allowed to speak of my dealings with her though.

I cannot speak of my dealings with Danielle either. Suffice to say, she has certainly spread her love(read venom) around.

Ooooh, cupcakes! I must confess to having a cupcake design in my store, but it was designed prior to ever hearing of Etsy. Cupcakes? How about a shipping profile tutorial? A tutorial for beginners? (OMG, I just made my first sale, what do I do?). If it must be crafty, how about branding as far as designing hangtags, thank you cards, business cards, etc.?

I must confess I have had no direct dealings with Danielle, and so I don't have a quarrel with her, but there is a pervasive air of immaturity that seems to waft through much of Etsy.

I'm terrified to speak of my dealings with either Anda or Danielle. Seriously, they scare the bejeezus outta me.

Or, ahem, they "allegedly" scare the bejeezus outta me :)

I'd say Maria should get copies of any and all abusive/questionable emails from certain Etsy employees.

She might find it illuminating and that it would facilitate her long-term planning of Etsy's structure.

Anda will never be fired, after all has had the first "Etsy baby" otherwise known as the second coming of christ...And btw, i'm sorry, her husband works there as an "environmental office manager" ??? What, is that really a 40 hour a week job? I don't get it. Ya get some recycle bins in place and your off...I'm sure she'll get a job for her sister and her best friend from 8th grade too...

If they want to do "cupcake crafts" why don't they do cake decorating? Too practical? lol

Ah but food sellers need a licence, don't they? But if you teach people to gocco cupcake cards or applique cupcakes onto old sweaters they can set up shop on Etsy selling them the very next day!

Also - have you seen the front pages linked to the new How Tos? with lots of sellers items which you'll now be able to rip off / compete with. If they picked my item for one of those I would be PISSED.

not on Etsy. They don't police their food section at all, it's totally "buyer beware" and eat at your own risk. The reputable food sellers want Etsy to check licenses and certificates (because they have those things), but Etsy says it's just a venue and doesn't have any responsibility to enforce that stuff.

Sad but true, eclipse! I remember reading an "I ship from an unlicensed kitchen and I don't care!" thread in the forums once... A year ago I would have been horrified by it, now I just think "typical Etsy"
