Brace yourselves, now...

After numerous pleas from sellers in the forums, Etsy has made - we have to say it - a useful overhaul to the feedback system.

As announced by marymary in this thread, members can now leave feedback in batches of up to 10 items, and can go back to upload a customer appreciation photo even after feedback's been left.

So, in the spirit of bitching when it's justified and offering kudos when something actually works, thanks to Etsy for making a positive change.

Well, I am willing to carry the bitch torch while you guys celebrate. The way this is set up does not save that much more time.

Yeeeeee-Freaking-Haw.

Finally.
A truly useful tool.
AND so far, it seems to work (crossing fingers that tomorrow, all the feedback I've just left is still there.)

I totally disagree... I had 19 feedbacks to leave, I was DREADING it. But this was pretty simple. I was wondering when this would happen.

I have to say i like it, btu I will add that they still missed a convenience in the bulk area.

All the entries should be checked with "Don't leave now" as the default. Since i noticed if you want to do just a few at once it will error one only process one if all are not checked.

team the Don't leave now default with a condition that if there is text in the entry area and Don't leave now is checked then it shoudl ask if you want to leave the feedback... does that make sense?

Finally! It would be nicer if I could batch feedback per buyer, but I'll take what I can get.

Thanks Maria!

well, that sounds good.... now, i'm crossing my fingers that some sort of 'vacation mode' will be next... inactivating all items before craft shows is lame!

I haven't tested it yet but it does sound like a good thing. Good job Etsy, you've earned a gold star.
If you earn 3 gold stars you may have a cupcake!

I didn't notice that... but, I'm not surprised. Nothing seems to ever just... be right, out the gate.

I had to leave all 19, so I wouldn't have noticed this unless I wasn't wanting to leave them all.

Okay, verybigjen, I haven't a clue what you said but I just found out that you're "Jen" of Dome-O-Rama and, more importantly to me, PixelDecor.

I've been visiting PixelDecor for years! Rokali was probably starting grade nine when I discovered it. Great site!

Okay, sorry for highjacking the thread. . .

Nice-but I'm not that impressed given Etsy's feedback system desperately needs an entire overhaul in general. Marymary posted somewhere today that big changes to feedback is still on the list of suggested ideas..........................................

Hey CnP, yeah that's me!

I haven't made new patts in ages, I need to. I kinda miss it. Once I started pincushions my other stuff kinda fell to side.

tHIS IS a great feature, useful even. Now I just have to wonder why, with all the past questions and suggestions for this feature, we weren't told it was actually in the works. They didn't have to give a date and time of roll out, just a statement that it is in some form of production already.

I can't believe that they didn't know until it was ready to roll out. This is the part that really steams me, the people asking over and over and over again for features with either the vague "we're listening" or the crickets of silense where they say nothing. all the while knowing it's coming.

What is so wrong about informing us BEFORE the feature is rolled out, just once?

And now tech announcements go in HELP? Does the pages that follow that announcement bug anyone else? Because it really, really annoys me to see 49 pages of 'way to go', thanks guys, your all awesom'. I wish we just had an announcement section for them to post in, with no ability to comment from users.

As it is, I got no etsy news email even though I[ve signed up for it, so I learned of it quite by accident around page 16 or so. I guess some really help issues bumped it down out of site.

Man, I wonder if I'll ever get that nasty taste out of my mouth that Etsy leaves, it just seems to affect everything they do and my response to it.

It seems like they're rolling out lots of long overdue little improvements at the moment: long may it continue.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Jen about the "don't leave now" default as unless I am literally catching up on pages and pages of feedback that's a lot of time wasted, and I second lessa re: why can't we just leave feedback per transaction?

It is at least a small improvement, and I *love* the fact that you can leave customer appreciation pics seperately, but Etsy you must TRY HARDER and fix things PROPERLY.

I am happy to see the change, but I must ask why it took so long? I mean with the amount of sales etsy sees why did they not make this change a LONG time ago. It should not be our responsibility to bitch for change in the forums. This should have been a no-brainer for etsy and really it should have been set up this way from the start.

Hmmm, no-brainer...etsy, maybe I am on to something.

Wow! And just a month too late to be incredibly helpful for all of us trying to do our duty and squeeze in our neglected feedback before the 90 day limit kicked in.

I only lost a few hours in the mix which translates to time NOT spent flagging commercial shops and/or baking cupcakes.

Yes, and tomorrow they will begin charging us to use their Bulk Feedback feature.

A new tool?
Oh goody!

Thing is, why is it, that whenever something brand spanking new and useful emerges it is never something from the top of the 'most crucial' list?

Birthday lists make me shudder, for example.

Handy nonetheless, unless you only have, say, 9 feedbacks to dole out....

...Pondering it at more length, it strikes me that perhaps the current feedback system ought to be jazzed up a little, like the 5 golden stars over at ebay.
Y'know?
Except in this case, we could utilise very (VERY) large, fluffy pink cupcakes.

Or custard-fart-tarts for those inevitable retaliatory hoedowns.
