RIP Sneaky One

Sneaky One aka Socaligirl/Desert Maiden Bath/Angelica Schaaf Rayl died in her sleep on Thursday night. She leaves behind a wonderful husband and four beautiful boys: Jacob, Kieran, Noah, and Samuel. On Etsy, Angelica was the first person to befriend me and welcome me to ETC. She also invited me into a small group of friends who later became the core of EB.

At EB, Angelica stepped forward and became the public face with a name for Etsy Bitch - not an easy task. Angelica was an amazing mother who successfully juggled an online business and raising three children while going through a very difficult pregnancy and cross-country move. With every curve ball that life threw her she met it with sarcastic whit and a great sense of humor. Miss you.

If you would like to help her family the information can be found here:

This is just so sad, I will never forget her courage, honesty and that razor sharp wit. Her legacy here is important to me and many, many people who would have felt voiceless otherwise.

How tragic for her family, so close to Mother's Day. I wish I had something to contribute to the expenses.

Wrapping my arms around you all,

Incredibly, incredibly sad and sick to my stomach over this. I remember sharing with her excitement over her last little one's birth. I lay in bed last night just -- well. This is so sad.

Oh Sneaky one...I'm truly going to miss you and it's a tragedy to lose you in the physical world.

Good journey to you and if you ever look in on us humans, I would be proud to know you as one of the muses of wit and humor.

This news is so shocking and unbelievable! I remember her from my early days on Etsy as socaligirl. Always spot on with her posts, as she was here in this Blog.

My thoughts are with her family and may they find peace during this very difficult time for them.

RIP sneaky one, you will be messed by many ... I just know you are smiling down on us.

I am very sorry to hear it. Despite our back and forth I rather liked her. You don't have to post this but I just wanted to say that her passing is a dreadful shame to be so young and I hope in time her kids and husband recover and are able to go on. I know they will always miss her though.

I was very sad to hear this news. Apart from on EB, I best remember Socaligirl from the good old days on Etsy (back when the words 'good' and 'Etsy' could be said in the same sentence!).

My thoughts are with her family.

Prayers to her family. I can't even imagine how they must be feeling. What a brave soul to stand up and be the face of EB, and while juggling a family. Seems like we've lost another good one.
