From the Bitches Auxiliary

We got this from an another very organized and observant Aux Bitch today... we just love smearing this shit back in Etsy's face and we like serving up double helpings of crow so much that we're posting it now.

As we know many Admin have multiple accounts (something they don't actually advise for members yet have no problem with themselves). They also require in the DO's and DON'Ts that each shop must reference every other shop in the profile (or store intro). And as in the Gift guides and FPT's that they (aren't supposed to) feature in, they can't even hold up that their own rules for themselves... and this is only TWO admin.

Anda's new etsy shop is called 'foroneanother'

foroneanother is only disclosing the anda account, not disclosing stopsandstarts.
stopsandstarts account only discloses anda.
orphans only discloses anda, Stopsandstarts, babystops.
babystops only discloses anda.
boosterseat does not disclose ANY other accounts.

The anda account discloses all these names and is the only one of her six accounts that is in full compliance with disclosure.

librarycopy is Anda's husband petecorrie's account.
It discloses petecorrie and tubularist, but does not disclose petercorrie.
Tubularist discloses PeterCorrie and petecorrie.
Tubularist does not disclose librarycopy.
PeterCorrie does not disclose ANY other accounts.
PeteCorrie discloses tubularist, petercorrie and librarycopy. It's the only one of his 4 accounts in full compliance.

Etsy's Own Do's and Don'ts says:
"All of your usernames must be clearly disclosed in the public profile for each account. A statement such as, "I am also on Etsy under these usernames..." would be acceptable. This includes all buying and selling accounts, as well as any collective accounts in which you are involved."

I don't understand why they haven't fired her; out of all admin, Anda is the least competent and the least professional.

Even etsy deserves better employees than Anda. They could do themselves only good by getting rid of her.

Well no wonder they keep "accidentally" featuring admin shops on the FP and gift guides. Who can keep all these names straight? I bet most of the other admins don't even know all the admin names and shops by heart.
It's all just symptoms of the same problems: laziness, lack of attention to detail, slipshod performance. It's the crafting equivalent of leaving hot glue strings or dangling threads on all your projects.

I didn't make the rules and I might even think some rules are stupid, but I still follow them. Because if I didn't, I'd get kicked off.

No, instead they fire Sarawearsskirts - one of the most positive, friendly and upbeat Admin.

What will happen to the teams now?

So these two admin have 10 accounts between them?? That would mean 10 different email addresses too, right? No wonder they don't know which end is up-
I can't imagine taking care of all those accounts,- and a full-time job, too--
Maybe it's time to QYDJ?

Remember when etsycorp used to ask sellers (via the forums) to keep to one account to help avoid confusion?

More meaningless Good etsycorp bullshit Times.

I just took a look at "librarycopy" and it appears as though he is just selling used books? Is this any better than the "tubes" he was selling on another account? (which looked suspiciously like macaroni necklaces to me...) So I guess used books are vintage, but are they really in the spirit of handmade?? I'm really confused. They aren't crafting books, they are like the kind of used books you see those vendors in NYC selling off of tables on the sidewalks. Is he still their "office ecologist" too?

No doubt Anda is leader-of-the-pack since Etsy looks more like a trend-making-machine than ever before. Goes to show that, if you push your own (Admin) stores and personal (Admin) trends on a site with plenty of sellers who are willing to produce just what Etsy wants, then, you have today's Etsy.

Then those clever sellers end up in all of Etsy's promotions (easier to insert Admin Products in those promos!) makes up dozens of FPT's that include all those products, and the Etsy Trend is made!

They then get to be the QYDJ Feature, and since they all sell the same type of products, they all sell some more until the next Etsy Trend comes along. Then they all start making THAT product.

And if pricing for handmade suffers, Etsy still gets their cut. If the reputation of handmade suffers, Etsy still gets their cut. Come to think of it, isn't that kinda like Walmart?

Etsy = the self perpetuation machine.

How many shops do you have to have to QYDJ?
More than 10, apparently.

And did you see Rob's going to Switzerland in January for some big conference?

10 accounts.
10 emails.
10 credit cards?

Depressing news about Sara.

FYI, Danielle is the other Etsy employee who works with Teams - unless that has also changed in the past week.

I still find it amusing that although the "official" word from Etsy on multiple shops is "we won't stop you, but we'd really rather you didn't," almost every single admin has multiple shops.

they updated their profiles now btw :)

Is this an indication of what Etsy employees really focus their energies on? somebody needs to monitor the sandbox.

no, it lets you set up multiple shops on the same credit card, you just need different emails.

Of course they did. They probably read this blog obsessively and after they get busted for something, then they fix it.

Anda's update thanks someone for dropiing her an email to let her know she was in non compliance. That said, I assume EB was at the heart of that email. Terrific work team EB.

Now her accounts say "Thank you to the nice person who emailed me reminding me I hadn't added these yet. :)"

Why do they need to be reminded of the rules of their own frikkin company?

I'm the one that emailed her. (runs away)

As much as you may not like it, it does appear that the books he is selling fit the guidelines of vintage under Etsy rules. No where does it say vintage items must be in the spirit of handmade.... whatever that means!

Bria: while that is very nice of you, you didn't have to. If Etsy can't follow Etsy's rules, what's the use of pointing out those rules to them?

I just thought it was the right thing for me to do :)
