Quotable Quotes: Brushwork

The Great Mineral Make-Up Brush Countdown has started:

"We appreciate you sharing your thoughts on makeup brushes and how they should or shouldn't be listed. We're taking this opportunity to review this matter and the restrictions set for these items. Should we have further questions that haven't been addressed in the connected threads, we'll bring them to you to get community input before making a decision. Thank you again for your patience."

I'm taking bets on how long before mineral makeup sellers and buyers get their answer, post them in comments.

My guess is that Etsy has "taken note of the situation" and they are "working on an answer" that we will see "in the future."

What a canned response.

HOLY COW! WHAT POSSIBLE QUESTIONS COULD THEY HAVE AFTER ALL THOSE POSTS? DOES EVERYONE AT ETSY HAVE READING COMPREHENSION ISSUES? Sorry for yelling but JEEEZE!

My guess is never. Prove me wrong, Etsy.

I'll put 20 on never.

I'm hoping.. PRAYING... that Rob's response isn't simply to shut us the hell up. 'Cause quite frankly after -what is it now?- SIX days of this fiasco, I am NOT giving up! I don't care if I have to start a petition and go storming down to EtsyLabs myself. I don't live too far away.

Getting a cut and dried answer involving something as simple as a freaking makeup brush shouldn't be this difficult. But I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I understand they're under more scrutiny now with the sold-listing-edit mess and they're probably trying to dig around and see whether or not they could truly define the brushes as commercial or supply... I'm giving them until this Friday. That is my cut off date. Then I am raising merry hell.

Just an fyi. *smile*

Thanks for the support EtsyBitches. I read this blog daily.

They didn't just thank you all for the fabulous discussion and start a new thread about it? Wow.

OMG

Major Burnout - someone needs to post a tampon brush now. Heh.

The Disgruntled One said...

Frellin' disgraceful. Really.

But now I want a tampon brush of my own. Does that make me bad?

MajorFuckingEtsyBurnout said...

...maybe someone should post it on ebay "The Etsy Admin Tampon Eyebrow Brush"...????

The Incredulous One said...

Tampon brush - fabulous!

Yet another issue turned into something astoundingly complicated. Makeup sellers, you have my sympathies.

The Kinky One said...

Ok, whoever makes the brush - send us the link please!

Oh my gosh, why is this so hard, how about "if you're literally selling handmade makeup and you're also selling the applicators needed to apply them, because otherwise people won't be able to use your fabulous handmade item, then go for it".

I can't believe they have to think about it, it just took me 20 exasperated seconds to write what I just wrote, sheesh!

Just a quick heart-felt note to the Bitches and all the contributors here:

THANK YOU so very much for caring enough to start this blog. Your intentions are pure and it will certainly give Etsy something to think about.

Quite honestly, I think that the fact you've given the brush thread so much attention is probably the only reason why it seems to be getting anywhere. Kisses to all of you for this!

Now that I'm trying to make my very own OOAK Tampon Brush I have a question: do you think it would be gauche to leave the cotton cord hanging free? Or would that make more of a statement?

spetsy- you're on.

and on a totally unrelated note- they now say the views are fixed, after telling us A.) they weren't working on them B.) they weren't a priority, and C.) they couldn't be fixed with the way the system currently is.

hmm...who wants to bet that this could have been fixed all along, and they just finally got tired of all the bitchin, so they actually worked a few hours yesterday fixing the views??

Angel-
I think you should roll the cord in glitter and tie some beads on the end for effect.

Marie-
You got it. A quick couple hour fix. (like I know jack shit)

The Kinky One said...

Absolutely let that cord hang free and proud!

Maybe even paint it red

"We will decide on a case by case basis" (meaning if you ever get Etsy to return your email, the answer is no)...
